How to Help Your Student in Math
  1. Read and discuss together information from the teacher.
  2. Make sure your student has enough time to complete assignments.
  3. Provide a quiet study area.
  4. Regularly (daily or weekly) ask to see that assignments have been completed and ask to see tests.
  5. Encourage your student - - ALL students can succeed in math if they work at it! (Don't say things that are negative about math; they tend to discourage students.)
  6. Let your child see you doing math. Involve your child in doing math (figure out unit price of an item, discounts, estimating what a total bill will be, figuring a tip.)
  7. Contact the teacher as soon as a problem becomes evident.
